Join our internship programme

Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) provides inspirational, world-class care to hundreds of children every day. We need to raise £100 million a year to fund vital redevelopment, buy the latest equipment, to give hope via parent and patient support, and to support ground-breaking research.

Internships are open to undergraduates who are looking to complete their placement year with us.

Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity Internship programme 2017/18

The charity has been running an internship programme for a number of years. This year opportunities were available within Digital Engagement, Corporate Partnerships, Mass Participation Events, and the Special Events team. We aim to provide you with an insight into working life within the non-profit sector and by completing a placement with us, you will be able to finish university with experience in industry.

Hatty James – Marketing Assistant

“I began my internship at GOSH after my master's in 2014. The team are great and instantly made me feel welcome. They took the time to teach me new skills and really valued my input, opinions and work. I was lucky enough to be offered a permanent position 10 months into the internship, and am still here a year later! I really love working at GOSH – the people and atmosphere are great and it couldn’t be for a better cause.”

"Being at GOSH and working in the Special Events Team has put all of theory I’ve learnt at university into practice, and made me realise how much I love events, why I love them and reaffirmed why I chose an Events Management degree. I knew that I was interested in charity events from volunteering at university, but being part of the Special Events team at GOSH has taught me valuable experience of the planning that goes into events and how it all works! It gives a different perspective to events that I hadn’t experienced before, the excitement in the run up to ‘event day’ and watching all the hard work come together in an amazing event!"

Alice Barnard – Press and Communications Assistant

"I had heard amazing things about GOSH and was so excited to start my own journey at the charity. When I first started it was amazing how much the team trusted me and gave me important responsibilities from day one, which was refreshing as many interns are often overlooked. I love my role as every day is different. Since I’ve been at GOSH I’ve had the pleasure of being involved in really exciting projects and I go home each day feeling so lucky.”
