Meet some of our patients
Joshua
Joshua was flown back to England by air ambulance at the age of two after falling ill during a family holiday in France.
He was discovered to have rhabdomyosarcoma, a childhood cancer that affects only about 60 children in the UK every year.
Joshua, now eight, had surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy at GOSH and there has been no sign of a recurrence. He returns for regular check-ups not only with a consultant oncologist but in the urolsogy, nephrology and radiotherapy departments.
More than half of GOSH patients require treatment in two or more specialties. Almost one in ten needs treatment in more than five.
