Meet some of our patients
Kirsteen
Kirsteen was born with her bladder on the outside of her body, and needed emergency surgery just hours after her birth.
She underwent many more operations at GOSH to correct her condition, known as bladder exstrophy, and is now able to lead a full, healthy life.
Kirsteen said: "The only thing I can't do is PE at school. I have to be careful not to bump or damage myself. But I'm very grateful that the doctors have been able to do so much for me and I try to pay them back by fundraising."
To date, Kirsteen has helped to raise over £750,000 for GOSH, including auctioning her signature for £20,000 at a Grand Prix Ball. In recognition of this amazing achievement, Kirsteen was named Fundraiser of the year at the Pride of Britain Awards on 7 November 2006.
