We are delighted to announce that from August 2008, Courtneys Gym are supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital, a world-class centre of excellence for paediatric research and treatment. Courtneys is the brand name under which Cannons Health & Fitness Ltd manage eleven community leisure centres in partnership with four local authorities.
Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and Courtneys have an existing link through the MEND programme. The MEND programme has been carried out in partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Institute of Child Health and is regarded as one of Britain’s leading childhood obesity treatment programs.
Courtneys are currently running MEND programmes at Queen Mother Sports Centre and Seymour Leisure Centre, which are both located in the City of Westminster.
Throughout the year-long partnership, Courtneys will be supporting the charity by fundraising for a dedicated piece of equipment that will aid vital research to help treat diseases such as Leukaemia. The Courtneys Leisure Centre members / users will be encouraged to actively take part in a calendar of events designed to engage them whilst fundraising for such a worthwhile and important cause.
“We undertook a vast amount of research in order to choose our charity partner of the year. Great Ormond Street Hospital was the obvious choice for our centre managers because of the world class level of service they provide to families and the enthusiasm of their team. Both I and all of the Courtneys team are extremely excited by this opportunity to fundraise for Great Ormond Street Hospital.”
