On 28 May, Empire magazine celebrated its 20th birthday in style with the support of the UK's film industry and a nail biting auction which raised a staggering £18,220 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.

Empire's birthday celebrations

The world’s leading film magazine hosted a special party at the Paramount Club in central London to celebrate its twenty years on the industry. The highlight of the evening was the auction that comprised 20 specially-commissioned framed photographic portraits.

The photographs appeared in Empire’s 20th anniversary edition, which was guest-edited by Steven Spielberg.

Also in attendance was actor Tom Felton who is of course best known in the role of Draco Malfoy in all the Harry Potter films.

Get bidding for the charity

For those who were not able to come to the party, there is still an opportunity for film fans to bid for an exclusive, signed collector’s image of the Harry Potter stars with all proceeds going to the charity.

For your chance to bid, please visit the Empire website.

We are delighted to have shared this unique collection of portraits with the public and film fans everywhere. Empire magazine worked closely with director Steven Spielberg in commissioning this incredible set of photographs. It is a great pleasure to have auctioned them in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity, a cause close to Empire’s heart.

Stuart Williams, Bauer Media’s Managing Director, Film & Music

We are very excited about our relationship with Empire magazine — the money that was raised will make a huge difference to the patients of Great Ormond Street Hospital and their families.
