103 intrepid Michael Page employees braved wind, rain and the Yorkshire Three Peaks on their way to raising over £50,000 for the charity.
In October 2009 Steve Ingham, Michael Page International Chief Executive, led a group of 103 Michael Page employees to conquer the Yorkshire Three Peaks. No mean feat in itself but they also aimed to complete this arduous 25 mile hike in under 12 hours!
Unlike the other warm and sunny weekends leading up to the event, all participants arrived in Yorkshire to find conditions simply wet, cold and miserable. With walking groups setting off at 6.15am, things only got worse with reported 70mph winds, horizontal rain and hail stones.
However, flying rocks, gale force winds and wading through muddy bogs did not deter the majority of the party from exercising a core Michael Page quality of resilience. Words cannot describe quite how testing the conditions were!
With a fundraising target no less mountainous, staff aimed to raise £21,000 but smashed this target topping a phenomenal £50,000. This success was down to the amazing fundraising efforts of Michael Page staff whose activities included tuck shops, pub quizzes, designing and selling t-shirts for the delegation and not forgetting to just ask people to dig deep.
