Funding a playroom
The money raised is funding a new playroom in the hospital's neurosciences ward. Play is a vital part of a child's stay at hospital, providing them with distraction, entertainment, information about their treatment and a means of expression.
"It's absolutely brilliant that Magic FM are providing children with a playroom. Due to the nature of their conditions, neurosciences patients often spend longer in hospital and need more simulation to get them back on track again after surgery. This will be a wonderful resource that will give more children the opportunity to benefit from play." Juliette Radford, Play specialist on Parrot ward, (Neurosciences)
Raising awareness
In addition to its successful fundraising, Magic FM has been hugely supportive in raising awareness of the remarkable work done at the hospital and promoting a large number of charity campaigns; on air, online and through internal communications.
Good Mood Film
Most recently Magic FM have created a very special and inspirational Great Ormond Street Hospital Good Mood Film, using images of the hospital's wonderful staff and brave patients.
"Magic 105.4 is delighted to be able to offer much needed support to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. The charity resonates with the Magic audience and over the past year we have tried to raise awareness though the creation of initiatives which encourage interactivity between the radio station and the patients." Sarah Hyatt-Williams, Head of Marketing at Magic 105.4
