MITIE staff in the London & South East region have chosen to support Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity as their Regional Charity.
MITIE staff are working hard to raise their target which will fund the four bed high dependency Neurosciences ward in our new Morgan Stanley Clinical Building.
Funds are being raised through a wide range of exciting staff fundraising activities and events facilitated by an enthusiastic team of charity champions – staff members who have volunteered to help organise fundraising activities in their divisions.
Fundraising activities so far
So far each business has held their own fundraising week and held various activities such as quizzes, raffles and dress down days.
Employees have also supported the hospital with their time by volunteering at the Children’s Christmas party and raised funds to help pay for this extra special day for hospital patients.
In the summer of 2008, staff organised a very special family fun day that proved to be a fantastic way to raise funds for the charity and have a fun time with the family.
A recent football tournament saw over a hundred employees turn out to help raise money. April 2009 also saw one member of MITIE staff running the London Marathon in aid of the hospital.
Looking forward to 2010
Plans for 2010 are well under way with another football tournament, skydives, a challenge event and a pub quiz all planned for the coming months.
Corporate support
All funds raised by staff will be matched by MITIE Group PLC adding an extra incentive for staff in their fundraising activities and emphasising MITIE’s commitment to the hospital.
