Sweets for Life hit £1 million target!
Sweets for Life have raised £1 million for Great Ormond Street Hospital through the sale of sweets in workplaces throughout the UK
Launched in Cambridgeshire in 2003, this scheme has gone from strength to strength growing from humble beginnings to a UK-wide operation.
How Sweets for Life have helped
To date, Sweets for Life have raised over £1 million for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity; funding an ECG room, Anaesthetic room, Patient’s single bedroom and Medication rooms and much more.
Fundraising Activity
As a great example of a cause related marketing campaign, boxes of high quality sweets and savoury snacks are distributed to offices, places of work and some public areas throughout the UK with built-in ‘honesty’ boxes which allow people to pay for their snacks. This enables consumers to buy snacks in their places of work whilst giving to charity. This has generated a revenue stream for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and has enabled Sweets for Life to roll out the operation across the UK and to employ over 100 people.
Celebrating Success
On 6 March 2009 all the franchisees attended a celebration to mark this achievement.
