Book of Remembrance

A Book of Remembrance recording the names of legators is kept on public display in the ante-room to the splendid St Christopher’s chapel at the heart of the hospital alongside the Children’s Book of Remembrance.

Dedication

"I have sent details of my late father so that his name can be added to the Book of Remembrance.  Thank you for this kindness - Dad would have been so proud.

As an infant in the 1920’s dad was treated at the hospital and always considered that it saved his life – which went on for 84 years."
Ian Collins

St Christopher’s Chapel

Described by Oscar Wilde as 'the most delightful private chapel in London' St Christopher's has been at the centre of the hospital's activities for the last  140 years.

The chapel itself was an In memoriam gift and is a 'tour de force' of high Victorian ecclesiastical style, and arguably the most sumptuous hospital chapel in the country.

It is a place for prayer and contemplation where solace may be found.
