Moshi Monsters
Mind Candy, creators of Moshi Monsters, partnered with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity to raise £100,000 towards the hospital’s incredible new British Kidney Patient Association (BKPA) Children’s Kidney Centre
The partnership between Mind Candy and Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity officially launched in November 2012 when Mind Candy released their limited-edition GOSHi Moshi Collection tin in aid of the charity.
The tin featured exclusive Moshi and Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) themed artwork and illustrations, and contained a limited-edition Moshling Collection of eight metallic blue 'GOSHi Moshi Moshlings'.
Vivid Imaginations, distributors of the Moshi brand, produced 35,000 of the limited-edition tins, which were sold at The Entertainer, Toys R Us, Argos, Mind Candy and Smyths Toys. Mind Candy, Vivid Imaginations and the retailers each donated £1 per tin sold, raising a fantastic £105,000 to support the hospital’s BKPA Children’s Kidney Centre. The centre provides care for children with problems such as kidney failure, patients on dialysis or those having a transplant.
Katsuma visits the patients
Moshi Monster Katsuma with hospital patients
To launch the exclusive GOSHi Moshi tin, Moshi Monster Katsuma visited the hospital and hosted a special Moshi Monster party in the activity centre.
Patients and families were treated to a meet and greet with Katsuma, and even got to have their faces painted.
Katsuma was joined by Moshi Monsters creator Michael Acton Smith, who gave out lots of Moshi treats to the children.
As well as posing for photos with excited patients, Katsuma and Michael made a special visit to Eagle Ward to meet some patients who were not able to make the party.
Everyone was delighted to receive Moshi Monster goody bags, which included jigsaw puzzles, bath toys, stickers and special activity books.
It was wonderful to see the Moshi Monster putting smiles on the faces of patients and families at the hospital.
Not only are we really excited to be receiving donations from the sales of the GOSHi Moshi limited charity tin, it is also wonderful to be working with one of the fastest growing children’s brands worldwide. Every family that buys the product will be helping very ill children with kidney conditions treated in our Children’s Kidney Centre.
We are looking forward to building more of a relationship with Mind Candy and the Moshi world in 2013.
