Gabi was born with a malformation in the connection of the arteries and veins in the back of her head. This meant that blood wasn't flowing around her body properly.

The guest editor for this edition of Lifeline magazine is Scarlett. Scarlett had her first epileptic fit on holiday in 2005, and was having up to 100 seizures a day until she came to Great Ormond Street Hospital, where she stayed for five months.
