HAIRraising is a fundraising appeal started in 2010 by the hairdressing industry to help raise £1 million towards new operating theatres at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Founded by John Frieda and leading lights of the hairdressing world, the appeal asks salons to raise money by organising their own fundraising events or by participating in our HAIRraising bike rides, cut-a-thon or raffle.
How your support will help
Great Ormond Street Hospital provides inspirational and world class care to hundreds of children from all over the UK every day. But we need to raise £50 million every year to help keep the magic alive.
The money raised will allow the hospital to treat more children across the UK and internationally who require specialist neurosurgery. To really understand what we do and why we need to do it, it’s important for you to meet some of the people you are fundraising for.
How we did in 2010
We're delighted to announce that HAIRraising 2010 was an overwhelming success and we raised a whopping £600,000! We could not have done this without the frankly fabulous British Hairdressing Industry. Our £1 million target is now looking like a real possibility, but we need help so that we can help get our patients well and get them home.
HAIRraising Customers
Customers can help Great Ormond Street Hospital with every hair cut, just by visiting one of our supporter salons on a cut-a-thon day, or by buying a raffle ticket, making a donation or even participating in a bike ride.
