F1™ Party
The F1™ Party took place on Wednesday 17 June 2009 at the V&A Museum.

Generously sponsored by Abbey and Santander, the F1™ community and celebrities alike celebrated the official launch of the 2009 FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX.
The event's Creative Director, Tamara Ecclestone, was inspired by our beautiful venue and took a nostalgic look at Formula 1™ past and present. Hosted by impressionist Rory Bremner and with a special performance from Grammy® Award winning singer, Duffy, guests were treated to cocktails, champagne and traditional British cuisine with a contemporary twist.
The Party raised a fantastic £450,000 towards the hospital’s new Heart and Lung Centre and will include a special Formula 1™ themed auction with some incredibly special and exclusive prizes generously donated by the Formula 1™ teams.

This year’s prizes include the opportunity for someone to have one week’s work experience with the Brawn GP Formula 1™ team, a date with Orlando Bloom, and a lap around Silverstone just before the Santander British Grand Prix in a 2-seater Grand Prix car, driven by The Stig from BBC’s Top Gear.
Where your money goes
Great Ormond Street Hospital’s cardiac team is amongst the best in the world, caring for more than 7,000 children with complex heart and lung conditions every year.
This year the money raised will go towards the hospital’s new world-class Heart and Lung Centre due for completion in 2012. The generosity of guests at the F1™ Party will enable the cardiac team to treat greater numbers of children, develop more pioneering techniques and ultimately save more lives.
