Partnerships reach finals of Business Charity Awards 2017

Our partnerships with both Morgan Stanley and Premier Inn and Restaurants were shortlisted for a Business Charity Award 2017.

Finalists at the Business Charity Awards

We were delighted that our partnerships with both Morgan Stanley and Premier Inn and Restaurants were shortlisted for a Business Charity Award 2017. This fantastic achievement is recognition of everything these two partnerships have achieved over the years.

Premier Inn and Restaurants – Finalist: Charity Partnership, Sports, Travel and Leisure

Premier Inn and Restaurants was nominated for its milestone year in which it raised over £2.5 million and reached the original £7.5 million target for the charity. Our partnership is supported across the whole business, with team members, customers and suppliers getting involved in fundraising and volunteering.

Premier Inn and Restaurants' support will bring Great Ormond Street Hospital one step closer to achieving our vision of providing world-class treatment in state-of-the-art facilities through the new Premier Inn Clinical Building.

This vital new building will not only significantly enhance the patient experience but could additionally enable the hospital to provide care for up to 20% more children. The Premier Inn Clinical Building will open in Autumn 2017.

Morgan Stanley – Finalist: Charity Partnership, Financial Services (Banks)

December 2016 marked the end of a two-year partnership which saw Morgan Stanley exceeded its fundraising target by 20%, raising £1.8 million for Morgan Stanley House. Morgan Stanley House will offer accommodation, free of charge, to parents and families, providing vital reassurance and practical support.

As well as getting involved in fundraising activities, over 800 employees volunteered their time to support the hospital, from making hundreds of goody bags and helping at the patient parties, to mentoring senior clinical staff moving into management roles.

Alongside their fundraising prowess, Morgan Stanley was shortlisted due to its involvement in rehousing its 2016 Chelsea Flower Show garden, moving it to a disused roof space at the hospital. Since the garden opened in 2016 it has become a haven of calm for parents and staff.

Morgan Stanley has been working with GOSH since 2007, raising over £13 million to support children and their families during the most critical times.

Thank you

Thank you to both Premier Inn and Restaurants and Morgan Stanley for all their incredible support over the years. Both organisations have made such a difference to the lives of children, families and staff at GOSH.
