Superheroes unleash their powers in Paradise!
This was the seventh year running that the Friends of Great Ormond Street Hospital have been able to invite all members to our annual event at Paradise Wildlife Park in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire.
More Friends attended than ever before with over 1,750 people having a great day out, taking part in a range of fun and games in the Friends event area as well as enjoying all the attractions in the animal park.
The theme of Superheroes unlocked the imaginations of many, with some wonderful and unusual costumes on display in the fancy dress competition.
Our celebrity guests, Linda Robinson and Kasey Ainsworth enjoyed selecting the winners and presenting their prizes. They also received a cheque from Hertfordshire Cub Scouts who had chosen to support Great Ormond Street Hospital during their 90th anniversary year, raising over £11,000 and another cheque from our hosts, Paradise Wildlife Park, from money collected during the year in their Great Ormond Street Hospital Wishing Well.
£9,000 was raised on the day towards the purchase of a new dialysis machine for the hospital. Imaan who is a dialysis patient and Friends member says
