The 2014 F1® Party raised more than £900,000.

On Wednesday 2 July 2014, F1® drivers and celebrities marked the official launch of the 2014 FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX at the 10th annual F1® Party.

What the event involved

The exclusive event at London’s V&A Museum, sponsored by SHOW Beauty, raised over £900,000 towards a new, state-of-the-art surgery centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and brought the total funds raised by the Formula 1® community to more than four million pounds.

Planned with the help of Tamara Ecclestone and hosted by the charity’s patrons Tess Daly and Vernon Kay, the star-studded party celebrated 10 years of the charity’s very special partnership with F1®.

Guests enjoyed an exclusive Q&A hosted by Natalie Pinkham with F1® stars Christian Horner, Eric Boullier and Damon Hill, alongside live performances by La Roux and The Gypsy Queens.

Where your money went

The funds raised at this year’s F1® Party will go towards funding a new surgery centre, which will allow the hospital to treat children with rare and complex conditions in state-of-the-art facilities which match the world-class care provided by its doctors and nurses. Guests were inspired by a heartfelt speech from Mari Edwards, whose baby daughter Meila had life-saving surgery at GOSH when she was just hours old.

Tamara Ecclestone said: “Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity is incredibly important to me and my family. The F1® Party is our way of using the glamour and excitement of the Grand Prix to raise vital funds to help the thousands of children who are treated at the hospital each year and I’m thrilled to have been involved in this very special 10th anniversary event.”

Tim Johnson, Chief Executive of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, said: “It was wonderful to be able to celebrate an incredible decade of support from the F1® community at this year’s F1® Party. The money raised helps us bring hope to very ill children and their families from across the UK, and I would like to thank everyone involved for all their support over the past 10 years.”

Our partnership with F1®

Each year many of the hospital’s patients are invited to enjoy the FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX from the paddock, and meet their F1® heroes.

This weekend a small group of GOSH patients who are fanatical about F1® will enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience as VIP ‘access all areas’ guests at Silverstone.
