The Greatest Show in London - Saturday 12 October 2013

Saturday 12 October 2013

The Langham Hotel, London

This event raised an incredible £125,000.

On Saturday 12 October, The Langham Hotel played host to ‘The Greatest Show in London’ children’s party in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.

What the event involved

Raising an incredible £125,000, this circus-themed event was a huge success with more than 300 children and adults soaking up the atmosphere.

Host Sara Cox, set the scene and welcomed guests to this spectacular event. Children were thrilled by the huge array of activities and games on offer at the party including magician Dynamo, a mystical light show from Halo, nail painting by Little BU Nail Polish, face painting and lots more circus themed activities and stalls for all ages; even dads were racing cars on the scaletrix!

A great day was had by all as children left with family photographs, painted faces, tummies full of treats and giant goody bags.

Where your money went

All the money raised from this event will go towards helping buy vital new equipment in the Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Units at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Currently we admit approximately 1,200 patients per year to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit – one of the hospital’s most critical wards.

Due to this high demand the units need to expand to be able to care for these poorly children. We also need to buy new equipment that will match the high level of care provided by some of the UK’s leading paediatric staff. The Greatest Show in London has helped us to do this.
