8–18 February 2018

Tanzania, Africa

Can you reach the peak and trek to the top of Kilimanjaro? Sign up now to join #TeamGOSH on our fabulous Kilimanjaro trek.

Join us for the trip of a lifetime and summit the world's highest free-standing mountain!

About the challenge

This 11-day trip to Tanzania is a once in a lifetime experience. You will be following the Machame Route which provides spectacular views of the summit and magnificent ice fields.Trekking with a group of like-minded supporters and experiencing the incredible hospitality of the fantastic Tanzanian crew will all add to your mountain adventure.

The trek starts from the south-west side of the park and approaches the summit via Barafu Camp and Stella Point. The challenge is a tough seven-day trek with six nights of camping but it's the most popular route on Kilimanjaro and for good reason.

An acclimatisation feature (trek high/sleep low) combined with varied topography makes it one of the most interesting ascents of Kilimanjaro. On reaching the summit you will feel on top of the world!

Reaching the peak of Kilimanjaro is tough and you’ll be pushing yourself to the limit but every single step you take will be changing the lives of the children we treat at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

A thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding event for anyone who was brave enough to sign up, irrespective of whether they made the summit. I now have a whole new bunch of heroes in my life!

In 2016, a group of nurses from Elephant Ward at GOSH took on the Kilimanjaro challenge and raised money for the hospital. Read about their journey to the summit
