Friends of Adeona

Charles Denton with the Mittals

Like our founders and those philanthropists who followed, including historic icons like Charles Dickens, JM Barrie and Queen Victoria, some benefactors truly help to shape the work of the hospital.

Their support helps to develop work which is not just of national importance, but of truly global importance.

An invitation to become part of Friends of Adeona is the highest form of recognition that the hospital is able to bestow on those who have undoubtedly made the largest contribution to our work.  Gifts made have had a major impact on the lives of the children we treat, including contributions towards the rebuilding of the hospital, support of pioneering new research into complex conditions and the provision of up to date specialist equipment.

Friends of Adeona certificate

Adeona is the Roman Goddess who helps to guide children safely back home. We feel that this reflects our shared aim – to care for the sickest children, make them better, and return them to their family home where they properly belong as quickly as possible.

It was created especially to recognise our most generous benefactors.  Without them, Great Ormond Street would not be the world-class children’s research hospital it is today.
