Marks and Spencer Amelia’s Apple
An exclusive variety of apple called ‘Amelia’s Apple’ will be in fifty Marks and Spencer’s stores nationwide from November 2009. Grown in Kent, Amelia’s Apple is a sweet, zesty apple with a crunchy bite and we expect that stocks will be sold out by Christmas!
Amelia’s Apple has been named in memory of the M&S Ilkeston store manager’s daughter, Amelia Bassett, who died from kidney cancer in May 2008, aged 11.
20 pence from every pack sold of Amelia’s Apple will be donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, to help fund the hospital’s kidney transplant centre and kidney research.
