Role description
You must be willing to travel and be confident in front of a variety of groups from schools to Rotary clubs. The reason for the talk may be for fundraising, volunteer recruitment, information giving, raising awareness of Great Ormond Street Hospital and its work or simply thanking our supporters for their donation. Full training on any of these topics will be provided. Articulate and reliable volunteers required.

Tasks

Adapt and deliver talks to a variety of audiences and different age groups within the community to generate awareness of Great Ormond Street Hospital, our work and our need for support, both financial and volunteering.

Market your services locally as a speaker using existing Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity resources where appropriate.

Seek bookings to speak on behalf of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity and possibly telephone and write to confirm bookings.

To monitor and build up a profile of useful contacts and feedback to manager.

Support key campaigns centrally organised by Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity

Provide feedback on meetings and talks to charity staff.
Skills required

Good communication skills both face to face and on the telephone with a variety of people from different backgrounds.

Presentation skills and ability to vary presentation to suit different audiences.

Knowledge of local area.

Willingness to undertake any training required.

Able to demonstrate commitment and willingness to implement Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity’s Equal Opportunities Policy.
