Organising a fundraising event is a great way to raise funds

Companies can also get involved in a number of ways, from donating merchandise to forming long-term commercial partnerships.
Handy hints for your fundraising
Set your goals - be realistic!
- Allow plenty of time to plan and prepare
- Enlist some help or set up a committee
- Work out a time schedule and set task dates
Watch the bottom line!
- Try to aim for at least a 3:1 ratio (three parts income to one part expense)
- Keep expenditure down by getting things donated or sponsored
- Increase your income by holding raffles, auctions and so on.
- Always have two people to count the money at your event
Let people know about it!
- Good publicity helps to raise more funds
- Contact local newspapers, radio and local TV
- Send out information at least a week before your event
- Take photographs on the day and send them to the local media
- Set up an online fundraising page
