Celebrating Easter at Great Ormond Street Hospital

On Wednesday 5 April, children, families, friends, staff and volunteers came together to mark Easter in a celebration of colour and fun at the Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) Spring Party.

Always one of the highlights of the hospital’s packed calendar of special events, the Spring Party featured everything from face painting to flower crowns. There were egg races, incredible arts and crafts, and many extraordinary Easter characters to meet.

The party welcomed many special guests. The team from Google Expeditions were on hand to introduce partygoers to the wonders of virtual reality – from the deepest oceans to the top of the Eiffel Tower. The Fun Scientist bought magic bubbles and a touch of technical wizardry to proceedings, and there was even our very own Bunny Burrow, complete with live giant rabbits!

With Bake it Better just round the corner, there were many opportunities to get creative and enjoy something sweet. Many enjoyed cake and biscuit decorating, and a chocolate fountain was on hand for that all-important seasonal sugar rush. Children were also able to decorate their very own dapper Easter hats and take time to express themselves by creating many unique and colourful canvases.

Volunteers from the charity’s corporate partners also played a key role in the event, taking part in many of the activities and supporting the charity team to create an unforgettable experience for the children who attended.

To everyone who joined us and made the party possible, thank you.
