The making of the video diaries

The diaries were created to encourage teenagers to share their views about living with different conditions, to break down the ‘myths’ about a stay or visit to hospital, and to try and help reduce social stigmas associated with different illnesses. They were produced by the hospital’s Children First for Health website team, in conjunction with volunteers from the BBC’s Connect and Create project.

Sometimes young people don’t like to tell their friends about what is going on or about their condition but these short films let them talk and give advice to other children.
