Pirates ahoy!

Pirates celebrate 10 years of support for the charity with another memorable Pirates Adventure for patients.

Five hospital patients and their families attended a star-studded charity premiere of the Pirates Ultimate Adventure 2013 in the beautiful Island of Majorca. The new-look show launched with a charity premiere on Saturday 18 May, in aid of the charity for the 10th year running.
The spectacular show of action, dance, acrobatics and comedy was attended by five children from the hospital and their families, all of whom were flown to the island for a week’s holiday especially for the event courtesy of Thomson.

Star treatment

On Friday afternoon, a boisterous band of pirates from the show made a surprise visit to the families at the hotel where they enjoyed some sword fighting and general skulduggery. On Saturday, the families were whisked to a pre-show party where they mingled with VIP guests and celebrities such as soap stars Steve McFadden, Cheryl Fergison, Claire Sweeney and Barbara Windsor as well as ex-TOWIE star Lydia Bright. In the evening, the family took their place in the theatre to watch the Pirates explode into action!

The money raised from the premiere will go towards Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity to support the redevelopment of the hospital. The Pirates Adventure show has raised more than £500,000 for the charity since 2003.
