TV’s golden couple Tess Daly and Vernon Kay brought festive cheer to Great Ormond Street Hospital today to kick off its Christmas Appeal.
By unearthing an old boarded-up fireplace they made sure that Father Christmas has a clear route to deliver the children’s presents this Christmas.
A chimney for Father Christmas
Last year one of the hospital’s young patients commented on the building works at the hospital, worried that she had not seen a chimney or a fireplace for Father Christmas to make his annual visit to her and the other children.
The hospital took her concerns to heart and revamped the fireplace as a focal point for Christmas activities and seasonal celebrations for all the children in the hospital’s care to enjoy – and to allow Father Christmas to visit.
Get involved this Christmas
Tess said, “All the children at Great Ormond Street Hospital deserve a wonderful Christmas after coping so bravely with their treatment so Vernon and I were more than happy to make Father Christmas’ job that bit easier! You can help Great Ormond Street Hospital this Christmas by getting involved to help the hospital raise the vital funds it needs.”
