Make your own Peter Pan costume

Everything you need to make your Peter Pan costume for the Guinness World Record attempt on 30 April 2010 can be found on this page and it couldn't be easier!

Make your outfit as part of your school lesson or try it at home (but make sure an adult is around to help!).  We have both a video demonstration   and step by step downloadable instructions.

Watch our video demonstrations

We've teamed up with Children's BBC SMART presenter Kirsten O'Brien and Great Ormond Street Hospital patient Lydia to show you how simple it is to make your own Peter Pan costume. You can view the video from start to finish or watch one stage at a time.

What do I need?

To make your Peter Pan costume you will need:

  • A green t-shirt
  • A brown or green pair of leggings, tights or trousers
  • A brown belt (perhaps you can borrow one if you don't have your own)
  • An A3 piece of green thick paper or card
  • An A4 piece of card (you could use one side of a cereal box)
  • An A5 piece of thick paper or card

Once you have gathered all the necessary materials you will be ready to start making your costume by watching our video demonstrations above or downloading our step by step instructions.

It is very important that you wear every part of the costume for the full duration of the record attempt.
