Theatres for Theatres is an exciting three-year initiative to raise £4million to help fund two new state-of-the-art operating theatres at Great Ormond Street Hospital. The theatres will be used to treat children with complex and often life-threatening neurological and craniofacial conditions.
The Appeal was founded by Heather Beckwith and her daughter, Nicola Bearman, whose son, Oscar, is a patient at the hospital.
"I have been a supporter of Great Ormond Street Hospital for many years but little did I ever think my own family would ever need the hospital's vital care.
A year ago my precious baby grandson, Oscar, became a patient at the hospital when he was diagnosed with a rare genetic syndrome. I will be eternally grateful for the high quality of care he continues to receive within the Neurosciences Team and for the incredible dedication of the hospital staff.
The hospital now faces possibly one the greatest challenges in its history – to match the world class care with world class facilities which is why I have helped establish the Theatres for Theatres appeal."

"I feel extremely privileged to be associated with Theatres for Theatres. This wonderful initiative is about raising awareness of complex neurological and craniofacial conditions in children and generating the much-needed funds to contribute to the specialist resources required for their treatment.
This exciting appeal will bring together the world of performing arts and paediatric healthcare. Together we have a unique opportunity to make a positive contribution to the future of sick children and their families. I hope you will join with us in making the Appeal a huge success.”
