Many people will remember the successful Wishing Well Appeal of the late 1980s. This appeal raised £54 million and helped to rebuild one-third of the hospital site. The remaining two-thirds are now outdated and overcrowded and in urgent need of modernisation.
Today, Great Ormond Street Hospital has embarked on the greatest logistical and financial challenge in its 150 year history - to rebuild two-thirds of its site whilst keeping the hospital running at full capacity.
The Tick Tock Club will play a major role by helping to create a new Heart and Lung Centre for Children. This will provide the facilities needed to undertake far-reaching medical research enabling the hospital to provide the very best in patient care and to prepare the next generation of specialists in child health.
