When The X Factor stars visited Great Ormond Street Hospital they chatted to patients and staff on the wards. We spoke to them about the moving experience.
Jamie
"It
was amazing. To be a part of something
so important has definitely been a highlight of the whole X Factor experience.
"I
speak for every contestant when I say we thank the staff. They have such a hard and thankless task. They really are appreciated.
"We
wish every child a speedy recovery."
Olly
On hitting the number one spot: “I’m really proud –
it’s made one of my dreams come true”
On visiting the hospital: "It
was brilliant. We moan about such minor
things – coughs, colds. This puts it all
in perspective.
"We get nervous week-to-week about this life-changing experience.
But week in, week out these children are dealing with life-threatening
conditions. It puts everything into
perspective.
"I am
proud I’ve been given this opportunity. I really enjoyed myself and to think it’s made them smile is really
inspiring."
John and Edward
On hitting the number one spot: “The single means so much to us and to all the
children at Great
Ormond Street
Hospital. It’s cool that
we are in top ten with Britney Spears”
On visiting the hospital: "We've
been in the studios and now we know what the money is going towards.
"It's
unbelievable – all the amazing operations.
"We're
just so grateful that we haven't gone through anything like these families
have. We're thankful it hasn't happened to us."
Rachel
"I've had an
amazing day at Great Ormond Street.
"It's
been a real honour to come in and meet the staff and patients and I'm so glad
to be singing and recording this single for such a great cause."
