When The X Factor stars visited Great Ormond
Street Hospital
to shoot scenes for the charity single video – and to see the patients – we got
exclusive access
Backstage buzz
There was a real buzz in the Hospital when The X Factor
stars dropped in.
Patients and staff were keen to glimpse the singing
sensations – but the contestants were just as excited to meet to the kids and
clinicians!
As the stars arrived, fans waved and cheered.
With a camera crew in tow, the contestants were whisked in to a specially
prepared ‘green room’ where their make-up artists pumped out the hair spray and
touched up their lipstick
Exclusive news
Lloyd Daniels kept everyone happy as he dished out biscuits.
Lloyd was a waiter before he was spotted on The X Factor and he turned on the
style – and the smile – as everyone got ready.
The hospital visit was extra special for the Welsh singer –
Lloyd had a kidney operation when he was younger and has a big scar from the
surgery. As he spoke to patients he was overcome with emotion.
Joe McElderry is another finalist with a special medical
connection. He revealed that he’d planned to be a nurse or a paramedic before
following his pop star dreams.
Singing on the wards
The stars visited patients on the wards – and Kandy Rain did
an impromptu performance for patients! The kids joined in as Azi, Khatereh, Coco and Chemmane sang.
The twins – Edward and John – also practiced their dance
routines as they toured the hospital.
More exclusives
A film crew shot footage for the charity single video – and
recorded staff and patients for a special online version of the Michael Jackson
song ‘You are not alone’.
Come back tomorrow for more exclusive behind-the-scenes
stories and quotes from the contestants.
