All 12 X Factor finalists released a single to raise vital funds for the hospital.

You are not alone
The X Factor finalists emotive cover of
Michael Jackson’s ‘You Are Not Alone’, in association with Great Ormond Street Hospital, went straight to number one in the single
charts after selling over 193,000 copies, making it the second
highest selling single of the year so far, and raising hundreds of thousands
for the charity.
The single is the second charity release from ITV1’s The X Factor,
with all net record company proceeds going to ‘Great Ormond Street Hospital’, a charity that provides
world-class care for its young patients and their families and pioneers new
treatments and cures for childhood illness.
National charity
Simon Cowell, said: “I'm absolutely delighted for Great Ormond
Street Hospital
that The X Factor single has been able to help. It’s an incredibly deserving
national cause and the work they do to give hope and happiness to so many brave
children and families is absolutely invaluable and an inspiration. It’s a
complete honour to be involved"
Dannii Minogue, said: "I'm delighted that the single has gone
straight to number one. Nothing is better than putting a smile on the face of a
child. Please support the Great
Ormond Street
Hospital."
Louis Walsh, said: “It’s fantastic that the public have gone out
to buy the single and in doing so help to raise much needed funds for Great Ormond
Street Hospital
which is such a worthy cause. And it means John and Edward have got their
first, hopefully of many, number ones!”.

Oscar has The X Factor
Last week, Great Ormond Street Hospital patient Oscar told his amazing story to the nation on The X Factor show, which also launched the single You Are Not Alone.

The X Factor single
The X Factor final 12 recorded their version of Michael Jackson’s ‘You Are Not Alone’ at a secret studio to help sick children, and to create more inspiring stories.
Everyone at The X Factor is delighted to be helping Great Ormond Street Hospital and is determined to make sure the single hits the number one spot!
The emotional track was performed for the first time live on The X Factor on ITV1 on Sunday 15 November in front of Simon and fellow judges, Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh.
Simon Cowell
Simon Cowell said: "Following last year’s record we made with the X Factor Finalists in aid of Help For Heroes we decided we wanted to do something annually on the show to help good causes.
"This year we chose to work with Great Ormond Street to help raise funds and awareness for their incredible work. I'm very proud of the single and I really hope it raises an enormous amount of money for people who really need our help"
Judges' verdict
Louis Walsh added: “Great Ormond Street Hospital does some incredible work and I implore everyone to go out and buy the single to help raise money for such a worthy cause.”
Dannii Minogue said: "I have been aware of the amazing work Great Ormond Street does for a long time, coming into contact with many families who have benefited from their tireless care and attention.
"Their work is incredible and I'm so pleased that we are able to offer them support with this single."
Patients from Great Ormond Street Hospital will be in the studio audience.

Dr Jane Collins, chief executive at Great Ormond Street Hospital, said: “Everyone at the hospital is X-tremely X-cited that The X Factor has chosen to support us!
"We really hope the public will buy this recording so we can raise as much money as possible to allow us to continue to help sick children from across the UK get better."
