Employee benefits

We expect all our employees to be high performing so they can each individually contribute to our vision for greatness as an organisation. And regardless of your role, this deserves to be rewarded beyond just salary.

The charity has a carefully curated total reward package employees can take advantage of. Please see below for our five benefit areas and the corresponding benefits.

* Encouraging work-life balance *

At GOSH charity, we understand there is more to life than work. Although we expect absolute commitment and passion across all teams, individuals should feel they can take time out and enjoy some flexibility with their working week. It’s not as simple as leaving early, it’s about identifying the right mixture of lifestyle and work – which is different for all.

Flexible approach to working

For most employees, working hours will be from 9:00am to 5:30pm. However, employees can take advantage of our flexible approach to working, planning their day around our core hours which are currently 10:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. Employees will also have the option to work from home on occasion, in line with the charity’s needs.

30 days annual leave

We give all employees 30 days annual leave each year. Our leave year runs April to March and for any part-time employees the entitlement with be pro-rated.

Option to buy and sell annual leave

Some employees may not need 30 days annual leave, while for others it might not be enough. Employees will have the option to buy or sell up to 5 days once per year.

Time Off in Lieu (TOIL) for volunteering

Volunteering is a key part of the charity’s work. Whether it’s at a gala dinner, cheering participants across the course of an event, helping to set up an event or lending a hand at one of the patient parties. Anyone who gives up their time outside work to assist with fundraising will be entitled to claim that time back in lieu.

* Promoting good health and well-being *

Whether it’s helping boost a healthy mind or healthy body, the charity has several schemes in place to assist employees with this.

Cycle scheme

The charity currently offers the Cycle to Work Scheme, which is a government backed initiative that allows employees to pay for a bike or cycling equipment through salary sacrifice. To make this even more attractive, the charity will cover 10% of the cost of the bike or equipment.

On-site bike parking

In addition to the above, employees can take advantage of underground secure bike parking at the charity office.

Discounted gym membership

We offer discounted gym memberships at two different gyms near the office. Employees can sign up for membership with the gym directly or opt to have the deductions made via payroll.

Employee assistance programme

Employees will have access to Care first, a confidential and impartial support line who can provide information and counselling to employees for both personal and work-related matters.

Mindfulness app membership

All employees have complimentary access to Headspace – a leading guided meditation and mindfulness app.
