Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) provides inspirational, world-class care to hundreds of children every day. We need to raise £100 million a year to fund vital redevelopment, buy the latest equipment, to give hope via parent and patient support, and to support ground-breaking research.

Internships are open to undergraduates who are looking to complete their placement year with us.

The charity has been running an internship programme for a number of years. This year opportunities were available within Digital Engagement, Corporate Partnerships, Mass Participation Events, and the Special Events team. We aim to provide you with an insight into working life within the non-profit sector and by completing a placement with us, you will be able to finish university with experience in industry.

“I began my internship at GOSH after my master's in 2014. The team are great and instantly made me feel welcome. They took the time to teach me new skills and really valued my input, opinions and work. I was lucky enough to be offered a permanent position 10 months into the internship, and am still here two years later! I really love working at GOSH – the people and atmosphere are great and it couldn’t be for a better cause.”

"I joined GOSH for a year as a placement intern in September 2015 working within the Special Events Team.

I was studying International Hospitality Management at Bournemouth University, but always had a passion and drive to work within Events – I just wasn’t sure what area! My placement year confirmed for me exactly that and I am now pleased to be back at GOSH after successfully graduating, to pursue my career working within the Charity Events Sector.

Being a part of the charity, and the Special Events team, has taught me so much about the importance of meeting objectives, being creative, being innovative, relationship building, budget management and team work. I have worked on a wide range of events, from Gala Dinners, to Golf Days, Shopping Events, Carol Concerts and a Velodrome event – The work is never done, and it’s never boring!"

"I had heard amazing things about GOSH and was so excited to start my own journey at the charity. When I first started it was amazing how much the team trusted me and gave me important responsibilities from day one, which was refreshing as many interns are often overlooked.

I love my role as every day is different. Since I’ve been at GOSH I’ve had the pleasure of being involved in really exciting projects and I go home each day feeling so lucky.”
