Register to become a volunteer community ambassador
Join our team
- If becoming an ambassador is of interest to you, please register your interest below. We are currently only recruiting ambassadors in the south of England.
- We hold informal information evenings at our offices in central London, which will give you the opportunity to find out more about volunteering with us and how you can get involved. All applicants must attend one of these meetings to join the team. The session lasts about an hour.
- After attending an information evening you will be asked to complete an online enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. This will enable us to offer ad-hoc volunteering opportunities in the hospital - for example, helping out at our patient Christmas parties. You will also be asked to provide us with a passport style photo for a photographic ambassador ID card.
Once you have attended an information evening and the DBS check is complete, you will be ready to start volunteering with us.
Please note that all community ambassadors must be over 18 and we request a minimum of six months commitment to the role. We also ask that if you would like to give talks on the charity and hospital that you have some experience in public speaking as we are unable to provide public skills training.
This role does not involve any contact with our patients or volunteering in the hospital itself. Please contact the hospital’s Volunteering team if you are seeking a role within the hospital.
