Help seriously ill children and their families stay together
More than half the children who come to Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) don’t live in London.
That’s why we provide special accommodation for families who have travelled a long way to bring their child to us for specialist care and treatment.
This means parents can stay close to their children – and be at their bedside as quickly as possible, to provide comfort, reassurance and cuddles when they’re needed most.
Anaiah-Grace’s story
Anaiah-Grace was born healthy, with no complications. But when she was four months old, her family were given some devastating news.
Anaiah-Grace's heart wasn’t functioning properly and was struggling to keep her alive. Diagnosed with a rare neuromuscular condition, she urgently needed a heart transplant to survive.
Anaiah-Grace spent the next 18 months of her life at GOSH, where she received life-saving treatment. Thanks to our family accommodation nearby, her mum could be at her side every day as she got better.
Regular gifts are vital to help provide family accommodation and other vital care and treatment to seriously ill children who come to GOSH from across the UK.
