GOSH Spring Appeal

GOSH staff

At this time the hospital, staff and patient families need your support more than ever.

As GOSH plays a role in the national response by treating more children from hospitals across London, resources will become increasingly stretched. The hospital needs the support of the Charity now more than ever, so it can continue to deliver the best, life-saving care for seriously ill children.

Thanks to the generosity of both supporters like yourself and corporate partners we’ve been able to fund the hospital’s most immediate needs, such as providing a range of services to support GOSH staff and funding rapid COVID-19 testing equipment. We urgently need to continue helping in whatever way we can, during this difficult time and beyond.

By supporting GOSH at this time of critical need you will be helping us in the following ways:

  • Ensuring the hospital has vital medical equipment such as testing equipment, incubators and lung function kit as quickly as possible.
  • Providing wellbeing for support staff, including increasing the provision of food, hot drinks and essential items.
  • Helping the Play Team to continue their vital work with children to build their resilience during this crisis, including producing activity packs to use during isolation.
  • Delivering other vital services, such as the childcare service to staff so they can continue to come to work and treat patients, and other support services such as accommodation for parents, funding for Citizens Advice Bureau, the chaplaincy service, and family assistance vouchers.
  • We are also looking to fund research into the current management of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as working on other new ideas and innovations.

Life-changing care

During this unprecedented crisis, the Charity must also continue to support the hospital as it delivers the very best in life-saving care to children with rare and complex conditions. The need for this does not change – the work is more important than ever to ensure there is no long-term impact on the care the Hospital can deliver to seriously ill children.

As the safety of our supporters and staff is paramount, we’ve put many of our usual fundraising events and activities on hold with expected losses to be millions of pounds. The money raised from this appeal will help us to continue our support of the hospital at a time when it needs it more than ever, providing vital support to staff, patients and their families in this challenging time and beyond.
