Robert Downey Jr is in London for the premiere of his new film Captain America: Civil War and during his stay, he wanted to visit the children at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

Taking time out of his busy schedule, RDJ met patients and their families on the LionGiraffe and Elephant wards. The excitement and buzz on the wards was clear to see and the visit acted as a real boost to all of the patients their patient families.

As you can see in the image gallery below, some of the patients currently being treated at the hospital are clearly superfans of the Iron Man franchise, most notably seven-year-old Ethan, who has rare blood disease ITP and type 1 diabetes. He is pictured below with the actor in full superhero get-up, and said he was "over the moon" to meet the movie star.

This visit is part of Disney’s ongoing support to the hospital and commitment to creating unique and special experiences for the children and their families at GOSH. In ten years, Disney has raised more than £10 million towards GOSH.
