Get inspired this festive season

  • Scrap the tat: Ask everyone to make a donation to GOSH instead of a buying Secret Santa
  • Guess the Name of the GOSH Elf (130.15 KB)
  • Festive Friday: Dig out your Christmas earrings, socks, jumpers and hats to spread some festive cheer in your office on a Friday.
  • Decorate & Donate: Host a decoration party – make wreaths, baubles or classic paper snowflake chains! Everyone makes a donation to take part.
  • Jingle Bell Jackpot: Ask your suppliers or contacts to donate prizes. Sell raffle tickets to your staff. People can either win Christmas presents or have a chance to treat themselves!
  • Pop up Swap Shop: Organise a post-Christmas pop-up shop for staff to swap or sell their unwanted gifts. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure!
  • Carol singing: Why not gather in your company`s main reception to sing some carols and shake some buckets during December?
  • Festive treasure hunt: You write the clues and hide the treats… and your colleagues find them in the office!
  • Carol-oke: Hold a karaoke party, Christmas style! Charge donation on entry
  • Gift wrapping station: Offer to wrap your colleague`s presents for them in return for a donation!
  • Xmas party outfit swish: Invite colleagues to make a donation to attend your `swish`. They bring along any party clothes they no longer want and can swap them for other members of the team- great for the environment and an opportunity to refresh the wardrobe ready for Christmas!

How you can help

Sally organised a fun day to raise money for GOSH and also to give her son, Jonathan, a fun day out with his friends. Jonathan was diagnosed with Perthes Disease, and spent a lot of time as an inpatient at GOSH. Due to Perthes Disease, Jonathan has been unable to participate in any contact sports and had to give up his Go Karting as well, so Sally decided on a Slot Car Racing Event at the local Pinewood Raceway.

Sally’s top tip: “We had regular meetings with the venue organisers, so the day was therefore extremely well organised and went off without a hitch. We also had wrist bands to easily distinguish between the racers and spectators. Everyone had great fun and as there were games and things to eat and drink it gave people the chance to do something else that raised money when they weren’t racing.”

80s fundraising ideas

Back in the 80s, we kick-started decades of fundraising to give seriously ill children the chance of a better future. Thousands of people from across the UK united to support the hospital's Wishing Well Appeal, which became the largest ever appeal of its kind. Now, we're celebrating 30 years of support. Over the years, people like you have helped to fund wards and medical facilities, state-of-the-art medical equipment, and support services such as family accommodation.

Get together with your friends, don a mullet, pull on your legwarmers and channel your inner 80s vibes. Download our ideas booklet to get you started.
