Thursday 2 May 2013

Highclere Castle

This event raised £390,000.

In May 2013, 140 guests spent a wonderful day at Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity’s Highclere Shooting Challenge. The event raised more than £390,000 for the charity's Face Value appeal.

What the event involved

The day began with breakfast in the castle, before the teams were chauffeur driven in Land Rovers, generously provided by Stratstone of Mayfair, to commence shooting in the castle’s beautiful grounds.

After a morning on the drives, guests enjoyed a lavish champagne and canapé reception back at the castle, while being entertained by musical act Amore and a fantastic aerobatic formation display by Aerostars.

They then sat down to a delicious two-course lunch in Highclere Castle’s ornate Library, followed by an amazing luxury auction, hosted by Lord Dalmeny.

Where your money went

The event raised an incredible £390,000, with all funds going towards Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity’s Face Value appeal. This raises vital funds towards research and development to help children across the world with craniofacial disorders. Their research will develop new techniques and equipment to improve the precision of craniofacial surgery. Better surgery will mean a better chance in life for these children.
