Big Play Date - Terms and Conditions

Thank you for signing up to the Big Play Date 2019 (“Big Play Date”). Please read our terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) carefully and get in touch with if you have any questions. 

By participating in the Big Play Date in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (Registered charity no. 1160024) (“GOSH Charity”) you are deemed to have agreed to the following Terms and Conditions:

  • The Big Play Date is free to register for those who are 16 years of age and over.
  • GOSH Charity will contact you by email, telephone and SMS to support you in your fundraising and participation in Big Play Date. GOSH Charity will also send you a pack in the post with activities and materials about Big Play Date. We will send this addressed to your child if you request us to do so.
  • Big Play Date events should happen before or during the week of the 6–13 July 2019. GOSH Charity will not be able to provide materials or advice for events happening after this week.
  • GOSH Charity does not accept any responsibility for you, your Big Play Date event or for anyone who participates in it. We advise that you, and all fundraisers associated with it, seek advice regarding insurance and/or licences and/or safeguarding of participants that may be appropriate/required for your Big Play Date event, especially if this is hosted in a public place. 
  • You understand that any loss, damage, illness and/or injury sustained by you, your attendees or the general public during your Big Play Date event, which after investigation is deemed to be no fault of GOSH Charity, and/or Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust, and/or other event partners, shall be your own responsibility. For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall attempt to limit or exclude, any of the parties referred to in these Terms and Conditions, liability for fraud, death or personal injury which is caused by, or attributable to them.
  • By choosing to provide a child’s name to us, you are agreeing that the fundraising pack may be addressed and posted to them, but you are the main registrant. You understand that all information provided as part of the registration process is held by GOSH Charity for the purpose of administering your participation. You further understand that information provided about children under 16 years of age is done so with explicit permission and knowledge of the child’s parent/guardian regarding the collection of information.
  • GOSH Charity may contact you for marketing purposes by email, telephone, mobile telephone or text, but only if we have your permission to do so. We may also send you marketing by mail in line with our Privacy Policy:
  • We will always treat your details with the utmost care and will never sell or swap with other organisations for their marketing purposes. We will keep your details safe and private and you can change your communication preferences at any time by contacting us at 40 Bernard Street, London, WC1N 1LE, telephone 020 3841 3131 or
  • You understand that JustGiving is an independent company to GOSH charity. By creating an account with JustGiving to fundraise for the Big Play Date, you will be agreeing to their terms and conditions which you can visit here:
  • You understand that we will do our utmost to provide all registrants with a fundraising pack in the post, however if supplies run out, or it is too close to your Big Play Date event, you will be able to access all materials online. These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim between the parties arising out of or in connection with it or its subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Each party irrevocably agrees that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions, or their subject matter or formation.
  • Any donation(s) received in relation to the Big Play Date event(s) will be used to fund the Play services at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. Our target for this appeal is to raise £12,150. In the event that additional donations are received over and above our target and/or the needs of the hospital or patients change, we reserve the right to redirect funds for use against the hospital’s most urgent needs.
  • GOSH Charity reserves the right to make changes to these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
