Volunteer at the 2023 TCS London Marathon
Please note: Applications to volunteer at the 2023 TCS London Marathon are now closed. Thank you for your support.
We need you to give our Charity of the Year runners the inspiration and motivation to cross the finish line at the 2023 TCS London Marathon in April.
As part of our community of runners and volunteers, you’ll be immersed in the incredible atmosphere on the day. You’ll make new friends and will play a vital part in raising the money Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) needs to help build a better future for children living with cancer.
Help us to create a sea of purple and deliver an exceptional race day experience.
Join us and let's beat childhood cancer together.

What you'll be doing
Every cheer counts
Cheer from one of eight stations with a front-row view of the race and support runners every step of the way.
Be part of the incredible GOSH community
Make new friends on the day and cheer alongside other volunteers and GOSH staff, all making an impact to help beat childhood cancer.
Do what you can
Take on a shift of approximately four hours at one of our eight cheer points. We will provide you with all the information and equipment you need to make some noise and ensure this is a day to remember.
What we’re looking for in volunteers
People who are willing to give up to four hours of their time on 23 April to cheer on our runners at one of our eight cheer points along the route.
What skills do volunteers need?
You don’t need any prior experience, just lots of enthusiasm and willingness to cheer on our runners!
Who is right for a volunteer role?
Anyone can volunteer as we have a variety of roles on the day. If you have any access needs, please contact us at londonmarathon@gosh.org and we can help to identify a suitable accessible cheering point for you.
Children and young people under 18 years old are welcome to support on the cheer points but they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

- You will gain first hand practical experience of event set up and support.
- We have lots of opportunities to support at our events so please consider volunteering for GOSH Children's Charity again in the future.
