75% of rare diseases affect children. Right now, one in three will die before their fifth birthday.
We need to raise £50 million over five years
To tackle rare and complex childhood illnessesTo find more precise and faster diagnosesTo drive forward clinical trialsTo pioneer new, kinder and more effective treatmentsTo discover life-changing cures
By funding visionary thinkers, new ideas and the most state-of-the-art research environment, we’ll drive progress in six areas of medicine. These areas are where GOSH and its research partner, the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (ICH), have the world leading expertise to make the greatest difference:
- muscle-wasting diseases
- immune system disorders
- birth defects and tailor-made transplants
- hormone and cell function disorders
- heart conditions
This will all be underpinned by technology. From big data to robotics and artificial intelligence, we want to be the first hospital to realise the full potential of technology so that we can revolutionise healthcare globally.
But we cannot do this alone.
With your support, and the support of a global community of generous individuals, companies, trusts and foundations over the next five years, together we can drive the medical breakthroughs that will change lives – and change the world.
