Festive Friday

Whether you rock as reindeers, sparkle as snowflakes, shine as Santas or simply love fabulously festive attire, join the fancy dress fun at your school this December with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children Charity’s Festive Fridays!

Whatever festive theme you choose for your fancy dress, you’ll be raising money to help fund the vital resources Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) needs to help get more seriously ill children home to their families.

You can choose to stage your day of festive fun on December 4, 11 or 18 - whichever Friday works best for you! You can also fundraise in whatever way you like, but our suggestion is a £1 donation from each snazzy dresser who takes part.

The difference you'll make

Every child should have the chance to be at home with their families at Christmas. That’s why the dedicated teams at GOSH work around the clock to find the cures and treatments to ensure seriously ill children have the best chance of getting home to their families. And, for those children whose treatment needs to continue over the festive season, they try to make the hospital feel like a home from home.

In these extraordinary times the hospital and the children it cares for need your support more than ever. As GOSH continues to feel the impact of the pandemic over the coming months its needs will continue to change and increase.

Never has there been a greater chance for your school to make an incredible difference. The NHS covers the day-to-day running costs of the hospital but your support is needed to help GOSH go above and beyond, providing extraordinary care and expertise to children with the rarest and most complex conditions, who come to GOSH from across the UK.

It’s so important we continue to support the hospital, its staff, patients and their families over Christmas and in the weeks and months to come. The hospital’s amazing staff have done so much since the pandemic hit the UK, and that will continue in the coming months and into 2021. With your help we can also take care of them, funding staff mental health and wellbeing initiatives and providing specialist equipment for critical services to work remotely.
