'Disney Epic Mickey' Interactive Gaming Workshop at the hospital

Epic Mickey Game 2

To celebrate the launch of Disney Epic Mickey in the UK, Disney Interactive Studios brought the new Nintendo Wii sensation to patients.

As part of our partnership, Disney Interactive Studios arranged for six Nintendo Wii consoles to be delivered to the hospital and recruited some willing Disney VoluntEARS to help15 patients playDisney Epic Mickey a day before it went on general release.

For two hours these patients were offered some much needed distraction and taken on a journey through ‘Wasteland’ wielding paint and paint thinner to dramatically change Mickey’s virtual world. The patients were some of the first to test Disney Epic Mickey and were thoroughly captivated by the brand new game.

Special gifts

As they left the workshop, all patients were presented with goody bag to take away with them.  Disney Interactive Studios also kindly donated a number of Disney Epic Mickey Nintendo Wii games to the wards at the hospital.

The Disney Epic Mickey gaming workshop was the latest in a series of events organised to bring unique and magical Disney experiences to the patients of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

I love it and I have got really good at it because I can jump really high.  I have been in hospital my whole life and this is the coolest thing they have brought in for me. Patient Joseph, 8 I love Mickey Mouse but don’t ever see him on the TV, this is really fun! I give it a big 10 out of 10 and want one from mummy for Christmas. Patient Grace, 9
