Paper plate puppets

Everyone loves a puppet show!

What to do

Choose a well-loved children’s story – we’ve chosen ‘Barry the Fish with Fingers’ by Sue Hendra – and find some paper plates.

Draw the characters on the plates and stick a straw on the back of each one with tape.

Then, play with the puppets as you read through the story.

Support from the Play team

“Children aged two and above will love this activity, as it has endless possibilities for creativity! They could create lots of imaginative stories with their favourite characters, helping to develop their social skills along the way with role play.”
