Rainbow worry fish

Help express feelings by sharing any worries with the rainbow worry fish.

What to do

Draw an outline of a large fish and colour it in using all the colours of the rainbow. Any time your child is worried or sad, see if they can write down or draw how they’re feeling on a Post-it and add this note to the rainbow fish scales. When they are feeling ready, they can share the scales with you to help express any feelings of worry or anxiety.

Support from the Play team

“The story of the rainbow worry fish was that she did not share her scales, which sometimes made her lonely and feel sad. Once she did share her scales with other people it made her feel better. This activity is a great way to help children use play to express how they’re feeling and enhance their wellbeing.”
