Do I have to fundraise?

We do not set any minimum fundraising targets but we would love you to fundraise to help us to make a difference to the lives of seriously ill children from across the UK. Your registration fee contributes towards the cost of holding the event but by fundraising on top, you will help us to support the hospital’s most urgent needs. These include funding pioneering new treatments and research, providing cutting-edge equipment and supporting the rebuilding the hospital to provide state-of-the-art facilities to match the hospital’s world-class care. This money will make a vital difference to children from across the UK who are suffering from the rarest, most complex and often life-threatening conditions.

How much is it expected to raise and where will the money go?

Last year the race raised an incredible £1,000,000 and this year we hope to beat that target. The money raised will help fund the hospital’s most urgent needs, which include the essential rebuilding of the hospital, which will see state of the art facilities replace outdated wards. Patients and families will also have more privacy and comfort including a bed for a parent to stay next to their child whilst they are in hospital.
