The GOSH Play team says:

"This activity is all about friends, and making them, and what things we look for. When children start out building their friendships it can seem really overwhelming, but thinking about all the wonderful elements together, can create a grounding and safe place to start if they feel a little lost or isolated."

Children don’t always know how to meet friends, nor what new friendships should look like.

Childhood friendships

Hello Friend! by Rebecca Cobb gently explores the spontaneous and sometimes unexpected nature of childhood friendship. It also celebrates what friendship can bring to children’s' lives.

Our Play team has created a fun play activity to use alongside this book, called “Making a friendship castle.”

Below, you’ll find tips and prompts from the GOSH Play team to help you and your child along the way.

Download the activity sheet to get started. If you don’t have a copy of the book you could see if your local library has one in stock. If they don’t, you can ask them to order one in for you. The activity sheet can be lots of fun without the book, too.
